Books

It has been a privilege to share my writing in these incredible books.

The Traveler’s Atlas

This incredible collection of photos and information is the perfect antidote for wanderlust. The book draws on the expertise of National Geographic travel writers (including me!), editors and photographers to offer up the ultimate experiences around the globe.

O’s Little Book of Happiness

This collection of stories from the Editors of O, The Oprah Magazine was published in 2015. In my piece, Horizons: Expanded, I share some of the lessons learned from our family’s yearlong trip around the world.

Canada’s Best New Cookbook

This collection of recipes and stories by Amy Rosen highlights the variety of cultures and cuisines that comprise Canada. I was proud to share the story of my parents’ immigration to Canada as an example of the resilient Jamaican community that still calls Toronto home.

A Gelato A Day

Editor Claudia Laroye gathered the family travel stories that highlight the “deeper parental and familial connections that occur when we take ourselves out of our daily routines and comfort zones.” That’s right up my alley. I was happy to share the lessons I learned on a Civil Rights Trail trip to Alabama with my youngest son, Cameron.

All Who Wander

Anne Taylor Hartzell’s inspirational book offers guidance to those looking for new ways forward. Blending lessons offered from her podcast guests (that’s me) and her own insights, the book is the perfect addition to the midlife toolkit.
